Peacefully situated in the Haselbrunn Valley in the Fraconian-Switzerland Forest, this forest retreat is just a 30-minute drive from Bayreuth. A regional restaurant and garden with barbecue facilities are featured. The country-style rooms at the Schatz'n Hof are classically furnished. Some rooms feature a balcony or terrace, as well as a TV. Guests can enjoy Franconian specialities in the Schatz'n Hof Hotel’s restaurant, and a rich breakfast buffet is available in the mornings. There is a shared kitchen that can be used for an additional fee. Just a 10-minute drive from the Schatz'n lies the famous Devil’s Cave. The historical city of Nürnberg is a 50-minute drive away. In the hotel you can choose between 2 lounges, each of which offers a diverse selection of delicious food between 11:00 and 22:00. The traditional Bauernstube lounge is almost 400 years old. The newer lounge features a quiet sun terrace which seats up to 60 people, offering a magnificent view of the surrounding cliffs and Pottenstein castle, which is romantically lit in the evenings. In the beer garden you may enjoy your beer in the shade of chestnut trees.

Near Luisengarten you will find the Juramar leisure and recreational baths, complete with waterslide, sauna and solarium, and offering hours of fun for young and old alike. The Teufelshöhle (the devil’s cavern) is one of the largest stalactite caves in Germany, and is easily reached on foot. Take a boat-trip on the Schöngrund lake, the 1,160 metre-long summer toboggan run, and then have a refreshing swim in the Felsenbad between the cliffs. Take a stroll to Pottenstein castle, and feast your eyes on the magnificent view of Pottenstein and the surrounding area. Take day-trips by car, bus or train to Nuremberg and its Christmas market, Bayreuth with its associations with Wagner, or Bamberg with its beautiful Old Town.
