The Hotel Adler has been offering hospitality for over 300 years, and comprises 3 different buildings. The Haus Sonnenbühl connects the original building to the Landhaus guest house, where the bedrooms are located. The Haus Sonnenbühl is home to the hotel’s generous spa area, which can be accessed from the bedrooms without having to go through the lobby or restaurant areas. Here you find a swimming pool (80 m²) with integrated hot tub and various special features, as well as several saunas and a quiet room. You can also visit the Vital Oase for cosmetic treatments, baths, mudpacks, pedicures, manicures, therapeutic massages, lymph drainage and more.

Food & beverage

Savour regional and international cuisine in the hotel’s restaurants, Romanus and Jakobus, or in the welcoming conservatory. The hotel specialises in game and fish dishes, and uses home-grown products. The in-house patisserie offers you fine cakes and pastries, including the region’s famous Black Forest gateaux. Throughout the day, feel free to visit the cosy hotel bar. Aperitifs, cocktails and exotic drinks await you here.

Area information

Be sure to visit the town’s Dorotheenhütte, where you can watch glassblowers at work. The Vogtsbauernhöfe open-air museum is also a popular day-trip destination. In Furtwangen you will find a clock museum, while a museum of local history awaits you in Triberg, together with a model of the Schwarzwaldbahn railway. Other recommended attractions are the medicinal herb garden between Schiltach and Schenkenzell, the visitors’ mine in Oberwolfach and the Europapark theme park in Rust.

Excursions: Whether you wish to take a day trip or a shorter trip, you can quickly reach many places of interest, such as Freiburg (40 mins), Strasbourg (40 mins), Baden-Baden (60 mins), Titisee (80 mins), Gengenbach (20 mins) or Mummelsee (45 mins). Take some time out to enjoy the architecture and countryside of the surrounding area. Families: A must for families is "Europa Park" in Rust (40 mins), currently the largest theme park in Europe, with a great deal to offer both young and old. Attractions: Germany's largest open-air museum (Vogtsbauernhöfe) is just 2 minutes away, as is the famous glass-blowing workshop "Dorotheenhütte" in Wolfach. The largest waterfall in Germany (Triberger Wasserfälle) is 20 minutes away, as are the world-famous cuckoo clocks.

Travel information

Arriving via the A5 (Karlsruhe - Basel): Take the exit "Offenburg", continue towards Villingen-Schwenningen, and after approx. 40 km drive through the tunnel by Hausach. Approx. 1 km after the tunnel, turn left at the VW factory, and continue towards Kirnbach (small side street). After 2 km turn left at the T junction, and you will see us after 100 m on the right-hand side. Journey time from the motorway exit: approx. 30 minutes. Arriving via the A81 (Stuttgart - Singen): Take the exit "Rotweil", at the first junction continue in the direction of Schramberg. From Schramberg continue towards Offenburg, and then go through the tunnel by Schiltach. Go through the next tunnel by Wolfach, and approx. 500 m after you emerge from the tunnel, turn right and continue over a bridge (after approx. 500 m). Straight after the bridge, turn right and continue for 1.5 km. After entering Kirnbach you will see us straight away on the left-hand side. Journey time from the exit "Rotweil" approx. 45 minutes.
